I've been advised by the guy doing my 4g63T 6-bolt motor that if i chose to go with a set of these that i will need a thicker headgasket to compensate for the larger amount of compression so it is safer to run on a daily basis.
If anyone has any experience with what headgasket to get and how much thickness i would need to knock it down to 8.5:1 compression or close even, that would be wonderful.
The galant is still broke
but this just may be one hell of a motor
the pistons are JE 9:1 pistons.
I plan on a Cometic head gasket
This is in the "eclipse" section b/c for the most part it is an eclipse motor.
And this also means the galant will some day sooner than the eclipse, see 12's. More to come as i spend the rest of what is in the bank.
Cooper Head Gaskets are very good too
What's wrong with the 9:1 pistons? Plenty of race motors run higher compression, and 9:1 is nothing too drastic from the stock 8.5:1 of a 2g. IMO you'll be fine with the setup as is.
